Back to baby

We had our 30-week ultrasound this morning. At my 18-week ultrasound they found that the placenta was low-lying so they scheduled a 2nd ultrasound to make sure it had moved. If it hadn't, then I would need to schedule a c-section instead of waiting to go into labor. Fortunately it has moved and all looks good with our little girl! Yes, it's still a girl.

It was great to get another little peak at her. She's measuring about 3lbs 15oz and her heartbeat was 152 bpm, which is all within normal range. She's already turned head down and her little hands were moving around in front of her face. This picture is only a photo of the ultrasound shot so its kind of blurry. I'll try to get a better scan at home tonight. She looked so cute on the screen! I can't wait to meet her.

She's been kicking the heck out of me lately. I think she just turned head down in the last few days because I've been feeling more kicks above my bellybutton since about Wednesday. They were much lower before that. I expect to start getting kicked in the ribs any day now. I'm able to feel her head and her arms and legs from the outside too. Sometimes my belly gets really distorted and then it'll ripple as she turns around. It's soooooo weird! And it can hurt too. But I love it anyway.

There's no doubt I'm pregnant these days. People on the street, in stores, and in elevators have started asking me when I'm due. I wouldn't think they'd do that unless they were positive I was pregnant. I've considered looking at them with a straight face and saying "what do you mean?", but that would be cruel. I've been a little more uncomfortable lately too. Bryan has to help me get up off the couch or out of bed and I get out-of-breath just walking to the bathroom (which I did every 15 minutes between 8:30 and 9:30 last night). I've also noticed some swelling in my ankles since yesterday. I've been making an effort to put my feet up as often as possible. Don't want to get those horrible pregnancy cankles.

My 30-week belly shot after the ultrasound this morning.

And yesterday in the bathroom mirror.

Can you see my linea negra?
