Halloween #1

Before I start with the Elsevier Halloween Extravaganza, I'll post a picture of my belly at 28 weeks. Woohoo! Third trimester! She's really on the move these days. I think I felt an appendage the other night. I was sitting on the couch and suddenly got a huge lump right around my belly button. When I reached down it felt like a foot! It stayed for a few seconds and then disappeared back to where it came from. Very cool but very weird at the same time.

Now on to more important things. As many of you know my company really does it up big on Halloween. We decorate cubes, have themes and even performances. No work gets done at all. Well, this year was no exception. The highlights are below but the winning team did "American Runway" which was a cross beteween American Idol and Project Runway. It was all performance and pretty funny. Think of "Vogue" by Madonna and "I'm Too Sexy" playing in the background while you look at these pics.

Sarah Palin and a moose

Cleopatra

Sweeney Todd

A lamb

Here are some of my other favs from the day.

Disco Pimp

Cruella DeVil and her dalmatians

Creepy contacts guy. I think he might wear these in his normal life...

And now for the cute factor. My friend Whitney brought 9-month-old Lorelei in for the fun. As you can see, she was an adorable little monkey. The cute little fairy princess is Myla, a co-worker's 14- month-old.

I'll have pictures from the Moore house later today and will post as soon as I can.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog. Bryan and I have had a whirlwind year since tying the knot in November 2007; Bryan's new job, traveling to Italy, remodeling our condo, throwing a huge Cinco de Mayo party, and just getting used to married life. Then, in May, to add to all the fun, I found out I was pregnant and spent the summer napping and feeling nauseous. Bryan was great at taking care of me, even though the smell of his cooking made me gag. Poor guy couldn't cook for a good 6 weeks! Now that I'm feeling better and am approaching the third trimester, I thought I'd start this blog to keep everyone updated on our journey into parenthood. I plan to post tons of pictures (as soon as I get the hang of uploading them to our new laptop) and record the big milestones. Before we knew the gender of the baby my 3-year-old niece Nicole said that she wanted to name her "Elmo", so that's why the blog is called "Elmo's Journey".

I am due on January 23, 2009 and am 27 weeks and 5 days pregnant today (out of a total 40 weeks). We found out at 18 weeks that we will be having a little girl! I'm so excited and already have three Barbies waiting for her to play with (ok, for me to play with). Ian and Nicole are also very excited to become cousins. They talk to my belly whenever I see them. I started feeling our little girl kick around 18 weeks and now she kicks me constantly. Bryan, my mom, my dad, Tracey, Ian and Nicole have all seen and felt her move as well. Everything is looking good and we have an ultrasound on November 14, so we get another peak at her soon. I've been feeling pretty good, except for the occasional tired day or bout of heartburn. I still can't eat chicken or any tomato-based sauces, though salsa is thankfully back on the menu. We are currently in the middle of remodeling our kitchen so haven't gotten started on the nursery yet. There's only so much chaos we can take at one time.

Well, that's the news for now. I'll be updating periodically with anything new and exciting. Thanks for visiting. Here are some pics from the first two trimesters.
